April Bus Ride with Madison Metro
Take the mystery out of riding a bus!
You see them go by and think: “One day, I’ll learn to take the bus . . . “ But we put it off because many of us aren’t sure how to figure out the route, hop on board, or pay.
Join the LWVDC’s Climate Subcommittee on Wednesday, April 20, for part one of Ride with the Pros, a field trip with Madison Metro experts. They will talk us through the steps and give us the pro tips from apps to Google Maps that help us get where we want to go. Bring your questions!
Itinerary:
9:30 a.m. – Meet at West Transfer Point (5700 Tokay Blvd) for orientation covering rider etiquette and basic logistics. If you bike, come early for a tutorial on how to load your bike on the bus.
10 a.m. – Board Route 2 (or board Route 28 at 10:15 a.m.).
10:15 a.m. – Arrive at Ancora Coffee (3318 University Ave) for group conversation and, weather permitting, a walk to the bike path.
11 a.m. — Leave to board bus back to West Transfer Point (Route 2 departs at 11:08 a.m.; Route 28 at 11:22 a.m.)
Free parking is available in lots across the street or curbside. (Please consider carpooling if you drive.)
What to bring:
Explore Google Maps and City of Madison Metro Rider Tools and download apps if you wish.
Money for coffee and/or pastry at Ancora Coffee
Bikes will be on hand if you would like to learn how and practice putting a bike on a bus with pro help.
