Ride with the Pros: BCycle Tour

This spring, LWVDC’s Climate Subcommittee is offering members the chance to take the mystery out of alternative transportation options. Our original event was cancelled due to stormy weather. Join us on Thursday, June 30, for our rescheduled part two of Ride with the Pros: transportation tips and e-bike tour with Madison BCycle. Learn how to set up a BCycle account, read maps, get to know more about expansion plans, and more.

We will start at South Livingston Street BCycle Station and take a delightful bike path ride to Garver Feed Mill, where we’ll stop for a refreshing break before our ride back to the beginning. The trail is flat and you will be using an e-bike.

Itinerary: 

·       9:30 a.m. – Meet at South Livingston Street BCycle Station (111 S. Livingston St., Madison)

·       9:40 a.m. – Orientation: check bike; adjust seat; review how to shift gears, rider etiquette, rules of the road, and group ride expectations. BCycle staff will be available to answer questions and chat.

·       10 a.m. – Ride to Garver Feed Mill

·       10:30 a.m. – Coffee and conversation about bicycling initiatives in Dane County, resources, and opportunities to get more involved.

·       11 :30 a.m. – Begin ride back to BCycle Station (with possible detour along Starkweather Creek)

What to bring: Bring your helmet and wear comfortable, weather-appropriate attire (avoid loose fabrics and bulky layers if you can).

How to register: There is no cost for this event; bikes will be provided. Attendance is limited to 15 riders, so register today!
