Voter Service is often the aspect of the League most visible to the public. Members assist voters with registration and voter ID questions at locations around the county. They formulate questions for local candidates, compile their answers, and publish them as Candidates' Answers, distributed with local newspapers and online. The League trains members to moderate candidate forums and provides moderators when requested to do so. LWVDC also conducts interviews of local candidates, which are broadcast on the city cable channel. On Election Day, League members serve as poll workers and election observers, and, in the City of Madison, work as election officials and volunteers at in-person absentee voting locations in libraries and other city offices. LWVDC and the NAACP Dane County branch are the lead organizations in the Dane County Voter ID Coalition.

In addition to our Voting Information page linked to the footer of each website page, we have an area of the website devoted to information for those assisting voters: training information, a calendar of tabling events, links to documentation and printed resources. This area, Voter Service Central, is also linked to the bottom of each website page.

Sue Fulks (Voter Service Director, Voter Service Steering Committee (VSSC) co-chair) and Beth Fultz (Voter Service Steering Committee (VSSC) co-chair) collaborate to lead LWVDC’s voter outreach and engagement efforts.
