Member Agenda

  1. Read the Annual Report to learn more about the great work done by our members over the past year.

  2. Read the Ballot Materials for preparing to vote on the 2023-24 budget, a bylaws change, program proposal, and new officers and board directors.

  3. Review the Sample Ballot. LWVDC Bylaws require that this sample ballot be mailed to all members ahead of the Annual Meeting. Do not return the ballot that was mailed to you OR the sample ballot linked below. All members have the right to vote; however, only members who attend in person on June 4 will be eligible to vote.

  4. For reference: Rules for the Annual Meeting

These materials were mailed to all LWVDC members the week of April 17. If you would like a printed version of these documents, we will gladly accommodate your request. Contact Office Administrator Kerry Helmer at office@lwvdanecounty.org or call (608) 232-9447. She can mail you these documents, or you may stop by our offices during business hours to pick up your packet.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Review the Sample Ballot and Ballot Materials to learn about this year’s candidates.

You may notice there are a few open board director seats. The Member Services Director and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director may be elected during the Annual Meeting. The Vice President position is also open effective 4/12/2023 and is now listed on the ballot.

Vacant positions can be filled by appointment by the Board if candidates emerge after the election. Only a sitting elected Board member may be appointed by the Board to serve as Vice President after the election, per LWVDC bylaws (Article IV, Board of Directors, Sec. 3. Vacancies).

  • Any voting member may nominate themselves or someone else (with the nominee's permission) for any position from the floor during the Annual Meeting. Individuals nominated from the floor will be invited to share a short statement about themselves similar to those in the Ballot Materials packet.

Anyone interested in being elected to the Board should also review LWVDC Policies and Procedures, particularly Section I, which outlines restrictions on political activities for Board members.

  • Email Barb Feeney, LWVDC Board President, at president@lwvdanecounty.org with any questions by May 12. Barb will reply via a group email. You’re also welcome to bring questions to the Annual Meeting.
