Rebuild America's Infrastructure and Economy
LWVWI, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Wisconsin Section, and UW–Madison Civil and Environmental Engineering Department are sponsoring this special program. It begins with a presentation of the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card (Grade of D+ for the U.S.) by Jon H. Lindert, P.E., LEED® AP Strand Associates, Inc., and Past President, ASCE-WI Section. After hearing about the state of our infrastructure, attendees will hear from William L. Holahan, Emeritus Professor of Economics at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee: Repair Our Infrastructure and Jolt the Economy. [Professor Holahan was unavailable. Associate Professor Scott J. Adams, Chair of the Department of Economics at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, spoke in his place.]
This presentation is being given at four locations around the state to help raise awareness of both the dire state of our infrastructure and the solutions that could help revive our economy.
Come learn how to be part of the solution to two of our most pressing problems. Presentations from 6 to 7:30. Q & A follows until 8.
