Individual Voter Information

*Online voter registration (OVR) is available to those with a Wisconsin driver license or ID card until 20 days before an election. Those without a WI DL or ID card may use MyVote.wi.gov to complete a registration form, but they must print the form, sign it, and present it to their municipal clerk with proof of residence. These documents must be presented in person if it is within 20 days of an election.
Municipal offices are required by state law to remain open until 5 p.m. on the Friday before any election.

City of Madison residents may also register to vote at all locations of the Madison Public Library, the Madison Water Utility, or at the front office of any City of Madison office (except during the 20 days before an election). Once registration closes at 5 p.m. 20 days before an election, you may only register to vote in the City Clerk’s Office or other City of Madison in-person absentee voting site (during absentee voting hours) with proof of address, until the close of absentee voting at that site the Friday before the election.
