LWVDC Observer Corps
The League of Women Voters Dane County has established an Observer Corps whose members routinely attend meetings of local governmental boards and committees. The purpose is to encourage good government by monitoring compliance with the Open Meeting law, listening to discussions and observing decision-making, and reporting back to the League for action if appropriate." The presence of League members reminds the meeting participants that the community is watching the process of government. "
If you would like to join this effort, the LWVDC is always recruiting volunteers to attend local public meetings. You may choose county, city or school district boards and committees based on your interests. To learn more, contact the League office at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
