Exciting Civics Education Project!
The League of Women Voters of Dane County is pleased to announce that David Olson, Social Studies Department Chair at James Madison Memorial High School, has been accepted into the Harvard Case Method Project and will be attending an August 2019 professional development workshop at the Harvard Business School. This project is sponsored by the Harvard Business School in collaboration with Leagues of Women Voters across the country.
The Project is based on Professor David Moss’s recent book, Democracy: A Case Study, which outlines a case-study approach to civics and history education, encouraging critical thinking and a deep understanding of defining moments in American democracy. In addition to implementing several case studies into his AP U.S. Government and Politics course next fall, David will partner with LWVDC to present case study discussions with community members.
Congratulations to Mr. Olson!
