Women's March on Madison

Women's March on Madison

The Women's March on Madison (in support of the Women's March on Washington) begins at 12 pm, Saturday, January 21st, at Library Mall on the UW-Madison campus - 728 State St. Bring your signs, wear your LWV buttons, and meet other League members from around the state at 11:15–11:30 am at East Campus Mall, the pedestrian/bike mall between University Avenue and West Johnson St. across the street from the Chazen Museum. League members will march together from East Campus Mall to the connected Library Mall.

Parking downtown/on campus will be very limited. There is good information about transportation/parking on this Facebook event page. You might want to park at/near a Madison Metro Bus transfer site and take a bus. Note that bus routes usually are limited on the weekend, so plan plenty of time.

AFT-Wisconsin has arranged buses that will transport people from East Towne Mall and Goodman Library (South Madison) to the March, but you must sign up in advance. To reserve a seat, send an email ASAP to wimarchshuttle@gmail.com. The email must include your full name and the number of seats requested. Limit 4 seats per request! Seats will be reserved on a first come, first reserved basis. Organizers hope to respond within 24 hours.

March on!

League members from Dane County, Janesville, Whitewater, and Milwaukee County gathered to march together on January 21st. Marchers carried signs calling for women's rights, equal rights, restoration of the Voting Rights Act, love and kindness, and protections for democracy.
