Check out Voting Returns!

This popular library event returns to all Madison Public Libraries on May 21st!

The Dane County Voter ID Coalition is holding a voter ID education and registration event at all Madison Public Libraries on Sat., May 21. “Check Out Voting” will feature a special voter area at each library staffed by Special Registration Deputies (individuals who can register voters) with information on the new voter ID laws and resources available for getting an ID, including rides to the DMV.

The event is organized with the assistance and support of the Madison City Clerk and Madison Public Libraries.

“Our goal is to make sure everyone in our community who is eligible to vote, gets the information and support they need in order to successfully cast their ballot in the upcoming elections, and beyond,” said Will Jones, Coalition co-chair and Dane County NAACP executive committee member. “These events are designed to engage with the community in a fun way.

"Coalition members will be registering voters, providing information on the new laws, and on the resources available to secure an ID for voting. If you need a ride to the DMV for your ID, we can help you get it. If you need help at the DMV, we can help you with that too, thanks to coalition member VoteRiders. We have learned that it is never too early for voters to seek help obtaining the ID they need to vote, as the process can be longer than one would expect.”

If you would like to promote this event with a flyer, you can print one in black and white or color.
