SRDs Expected to Function through Fall

In its quarterly report on implementation of Act 261 (Electronic Voter Registration), the GAB reported that the DMV does not expect to complete the Electronic Voter Registration project in time for it to be in place for the general election in November. This means SRDs will be allowed to continue to register voters for the November election. That is, unless the project is accelerated.

Once the project is in place, and SRDs no longer exist, the state will be required to contact eligible electors in the DMV database who are not yet registered to vote.
