The film Suffragette opens Friday, November 6, at the Sundance Cinema in Madison.
The film is "inspired by true events" in the struggle for women's suffrage in England. It stars Carrie Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meryl Streep.
You can see a trailer at the film's official website, suffragettethemovie.com. The site also invites visitors to become involved in many women's equality movements. One of their marketing campaigns is #HopeForOurDaughters, introduced with this powerful message about conditions for women in 1915 vs. 2015.
We can't let future generations forget what our foremothers went through to secure the vote and how many women here and abroad suffer discrimination solely because of their gender.
